coleman cooler 


When I was young and first living on my own I spent many weekends at the lake. My friends and I participated in a sport known as "tubing." There was little equipment required for this endeavor. An old tire tube and a coleman cooler was all you needed. It doesn't get any easier than that!

My "river rat" friends and I would meet at my apartment every Saturday morning. Tubes would be inflated and the coleman cooler was full. I recall getting so irritated because someone was always late and I wanted to hit the road!

Finally when we took off, it was in caravan down the highway. Upon arrival at the lake most of the cars would park at the beginning of the river run. A couple cars would park at the end. We would unload our coleman cooler and tubes and begin floating down the river!

When we were done everyone would pile into the two cars and truck back to the beginning. We had it all figured out! Sometimes we would just park at the beginning and thumb back to our cars. It was the nature of the sport during those innocent years!
