I grew up in a small town in Alaska, and the outdoors are where I love to be the most. But after finishing college and taking a job in Seattle working sixty hours a week, I only get time once a year. Now the Pacific Northwest has everything and more than I had back home as far as terrain, but not wildlife and fishing. So once a year my dog and I take off back home for a few weeks of camping and enjoying outdoor sport activities. I use only the best camping and hiking gear, and for me that is Coleman. My parents still live up in the great state of Alaska, so I just fly on in and grab dads truck and four wheeler, my Coleman tent, Coleman cooler and camping cookware. I usually spend about two weeks camping & fishing, and about a week with friends and family. I know the whole area like the back of my hand, so all the good fishing spots and wild berry spots are open for shopping! I love my vacations!

I had realized, after looking over my aging collection of camping cookware, that I could really use some new camping cookware so that I could more easily cook the tasty meals that I so desire to eat when on the numerous camping trips I take each year. I have to hand it to the awesomeness of the internet, because there are so many great online stores I was able to easily find that sell tons of great pieces of camping cookware. In fact, the hardest part for me was actually deciding what pieces of camping cookware to buy, because there was so much selection to choose from online. But I was, in the end, able to get a few great new pieces of camping cookware, like a new four burner range, and some new tea kettles that you can stick right in the fire pit, for some really great bargains!

If I had to list off the top three outdoor sports that I enjoy the most, I would have to say that it would be in this order: camping and hiking outdoor sports, because I only get to go so many times per year; followed by skateboarding outdoor sports, because they help me keep in shape and I love riding my skateboard deck; and last but not least, riding my bike. Add jogging to the mix, and you would have four of my favorite outdoor sports. The one thing that I have realized is that by doing all of these outdoor sports that I so enjoy all of the time and more frequently, is that not only do I get out of the house more often and enjoy the wonderful weather here in Arizona, but I also have found that they are a great way to stay healthy and in shape as well!

I am fortunate enough to be able to go to many exotic places and experience many different outdoor sport activities. I was recently in Brazil on my first base jumping trip. I found a fellow online that offers a three week adventure of camping, hiking and base jumping. The pictures and testimonies of fellow adrenaline junkies really got me excited to go . I arrived in Brazil and I was met by the man that would be guiding me and a few others on this once in a life time adventure. I was taken to a beautiful villa over looking a beautiful little town, and met up with the rest of the pack. We had a wonderful dinner and went to bed early to catch the sun coming up. We met in the foyer and began loading our camping hiking gear, then left for our drop off spot. We listened to a few safety precautions, and then began our two day hike to the first jump point. I will remember this trip for the rest of my life!

If you have ever been backpacking, you know that every ounce in your pack counts. You have to make sure you have light gear and the right gear. Often times, camping cookware can make or break your backpacking experience. The wrong piece of camping cookware can make for a heavy pack or a disastrous cooking experience. That's why my favorite piece of camping cookware is my ultralight aluminum pot. I use it for everything! In the morning, I boil water for tea or coffee, and then mix oatmeal into the leftover water for a nice hot breakfast. For lunch, I use the pot as a cup for my electrolyte drink mix to pep me up for the rest of my day hiking. For dinner I use it again to make hot soup, instant rice, or other wonderful camping culinary creations. After dinner comes my favorite time to use my lightweight aluminum pot. This is the time when my friends and I gather around the fire to make hot chocolate and share or amazing hiking experiences with one another.

Her niece was going to be nine years old and instead of having a party at the house or spending big bucks on other venues, the family decided a picnic with outdoor sports equipment would be just as fun. Whenever we are able to get awy from the city we go camping. The kids have camped since they were in diapers. And we have used the same coleman tent for all those years. It is a two man tent and has been perfect for the changing needs of our growing family throughout the years.

When the kids were babies the front room of the coleman tent became a diaper changing room or a late night feeding room. When the kids were a little older and no longer wanted to sleep with us it was their "private quarters." Little did they know that we could overhear everything! And I mean everything...it is amazing what one can learn about their children when they think you are not listening. Very insightful, I must say!

Now that the kids are grown with kids of their own the camping trips have become quite the family affair. The grandkids often want to stay with us in that old two man coleman tent. They love to hear the stories about their parents camping with us when they were young in those same quarters.

His camping hiking gear is old and worn, so I know he would appreciate some new gear. He, like many of us are on a tight budget, so I know he won’t go out and purchase any new gear soon. I went online to the outdoor sport sites and found many selections of camping hiking gear. I quickly purchased a nice compass, since he told me when he last went hiking all of them got turned around. Luckily, two of his friends had decent compasses and a map and found their trail. There was a lot more camping hiking gear accessories that I checked out and purchased a few more smaller items. I know he will love his hiking gifts and I will feel better knowing he has some much needed new equipment for the trails.

It is something I have always had a soft spot for. Whenever I drink a crisp, cold, and deliciously refreshing soda, I think back to the days when my grandfather taught me to like it. Every time I taste a nice cold soda, I think about the great times I had with my grandfather when I was a young child. There is no better way for me to be reminded of those times than with a cold soda from my Coleman cooler.
I always bring along my Coleman cooler on every single one of my camping trips. It has been as much a part of my family as my dog it seems. It basically follows me everywhere, because it always keeps my soda refreshingly ice cold, and is extremely durable. I have brought that Coleman cooler with us on probably over one hundred camp outs now, and it still always does the job.
Since Christmas is right around the corner this week, I think I will try to get a cooler for my dad as a surprise present. That was loads of fun with the crazy college crowd. Wow! The tail gate parties have gone hi-tech. I would now consider tailgating as a fun outdoor sport. There were all kinds of vehicles with fold-up grills and portable grills made with tailgating in mind. The one item that is always present and are plenty of are the Coleman coolers. Being in the desert southwest, you have to have plenty of frosty, cold beverages in a few Coleman coolers and the other coolers for keeping the food cold til grilling time. We all had a great time hours before the game started and met plenty of fans and out of towners. It has almost become a contest on who has the best grilling equipment and recipes for tailgating. They broke up into teams, found a clearing nearby our campsite, made goals with pine cones and the frisbee flew! Points were given sort of like in horseshoes. I have always used them for a wide variety of different things. Namely, Coleman coolers have always come in handy for family events, like get togethers, barbeques and parties. I also like to take Coleman coolers with me when we head out to the lake on the weekends, or especially when we are all going camping over the weekends. In fact, that’s one of my favorite parts about being on a camping trip: Grabbing an ice cold drink from my Coleman cooler and popping it open in the darkness and taking a deep, refreshing sip off the top. Then heading back over to the campfire and singing more songs with my friends and family as we enjoy each other’s company, and pass the night away doing something we all love to do together. Indeed, Coleman coolers have really allowed me to enjoy many different things over the years, and when compared to any other cooler I have owned, they have proven to be the most reliable time and time again!

My family took our Coleman cooler to every family picnic and get togethers. I remember lugging the huge, dark green steel Coleman cooler to many picnic tables by the lake. The first thing we would do is get something to drink, because by that time we were all dripping wet from setting up the site. That cooler held many containers of food and drink. I was a stickler for keeping the food in the Coleman cooler at all times until we were ready to eat. Even then, as soon as everyone got their food, the food would go right back into the cold storage. I didn’t want any food poisoning on my watch. As time went on, I bought the smaller Coleman cooler for my kids sports games. I seemed to always be the snack mom for practices and games. The beverages always stayed frosty cold for the kids. The Coleman cooler was always a part of our family activities.

My friends and I participated in a sport known as "tubing." There was little equipment required for this endeavor. An old tire tube and a coleman cooler was all you needed. It doesn't get any easier than that!

My "river rat" friends and I would meet at my apartment every Saturday morning. Tubes would be inflated and the coleman cooler was full. I recall getting so irritated because someone was always late and I wanted to hit the road!

Finally when we took off, it was in caravan down the highway. Upon arrival at the lake most of the cars would park at the beginning of the river run. A couple cars would park at the end. We would unload our coleman cooler and tubes and begin floating down the river!

When we were done everyone would pile into the two cars and truck back to the beginning. We had it all figured out! Sometimes we would just park at the beginning and thumb back to our cars. It was the nature of the sport during those innocent years!

After an hour or two I go out to check on the progress of things but there is never any camping hiking gear in the back of the truck. My husband always has the look of concentration on his face. The poor guy stands there trying to remember how it all fits. He tells me he had everything loaded, but forgot the grill has to go in first. I have to hold back my laughter because it’s the same conversation we have had many times before. It’s always been the same camping hiking gear packed into the same truck, but it never fits the same way. With my help we finally get all the camping hiking gear packed and leave much later than we planned. Maybe next time we should just take up mountain biking!

My daughter decided to try camping with her friends this summer. In the past she has only gone camping with the family. She's not used to having to needed to bring things. I usually make sure we have everything we need packed into the van. All she ever had to do was bring her clothing.

Her first camping trip with her friends was a short lived disaster. She took her tent, sleeping bag and clothing. That was it. It never occurred to her or her friends they would need things like camping cookware. Everyone expected someone else to bring camping cookware. They set up camp, got ready for the night and had nothing to cook on or with. Some of them, like my daughter, did not even bring food or a cooler to keep food. It was a learning experience for her. I think she now appreciates how much work goes into planning a camping trip. They are re-trying the camping experience this weekend. My daughter is borrowing our camping cookware and some of our other camping equipment.
<img title="Coleman tent" alt="coleman tent, camping hiking gear" tent" src="http://login.wordpressors.com/Upload/outdoorcolemanandcampinggear.com/Coleman tent.jpg" />
There are many fine companies making camping hiking gear but few have been in business as long as Coleman. When I go online to look for new camping hiking gear Coleman is always one of the companies I consider first. Take a Coleman tent for example. Coleman's line of camping tents cover everyone who needs over night shelter. For hikers, motorcycle, and bicycle campers Coleman offers many styles of one and two person lightweight tents that are sturdy, waterproof, set up very quickly and take up very little room when stowed. For those outdoor sport campers who need larger tents one of the Coleman tent designs for four, six and eight people are available for very good prices and these tents are loaded with features such as waterproof floors, zippered window/air vents, large "porch" canopies for extra rain protection, dividers in the tent so you can dedicate one area for the kids sleeping, another area on the other side of the tent for gear storage and the main center of the tent for mom and dad. Any Coleman tent is going to be the center of your camp so go online and check them out.

Canoing and Camping a Favorite Outdoor Sport of Ours

<img title="outdoor sport" height="192" alt="outdoor sport, coleman tent" sport" hspace="0" src="http://login.wordpressors.com/Upload/outdoorcolemanandcampinggear.com/canoe.jpg" width="215" border="0" style="width: 215px; height: 192px" />My husband's brother called him last night wondering if we'd like to go canoing this weekend. We kicked the idea around a little and decided that it might be pretty fun to load up the canoe on the rack and engage in this peaceful outdoor sport. We love to be on the water in the summer because it is so much cooler, and we started thinking that we might even want to go for an overnight canoing trip. The lake nearest our home has camping sites all along its shore, and it's a beautiful place. All we'd need to bring along is our Coleman tent, the cooler, our solar oven, and some lightweight sleeping bags. Of course, we'd need the bed rolls, too. We are not into suffering the rocky, hard ground. It could be a wonderful way to spend a couple of days on the water. When we are outdoors we like to use the solar oven to cook our food because it doesn't take up much room and it creates no pollution. We can put it in the center of the canoe, get food out of the Coleman cooler, and cook food as we paddle to the campsite. Then we'll set up camp, eat dinner, and enjoy an utterly relaxing evening sitting around a very small campfire, listening to the sounds of the lake lapping at the shore. Sounds like a great way to enjoy a fun outdoor sporting trip just eight miles from home.
